Support and Maintenance
Running a LocalGov Drupal website after go-live requires ongoing attention. Platform updates need testing and applying. Security patches need prompt deployment. Accessibility compliance needs maintaining as content changes. And your team will occasionally need technical help that goes beyond what an in-house editor can handle.
This page covers the technical specifics of how we structure support and maintenance. For the broader picture of the long-term partnership — what ongoing development looks like, how we work with your team, and what our client relationships actually look like in practice — see our Ongoing support & development page.
What's included in a support arrangement
Drupal core and module updates We monitor LocalGov Drupal releases and contributed module updates, test them against your specific configuration, and apply them on a scheduled basis. Security releases are treated as urgent and applied promptly.
Security monitoring and incident response We monitor your site for security issues and respond within agreed timeframes. If a security incident occurs you are informed promptly and we issue a post-incident report covering cause and remediation.
Accessibility audits We carry out periodic WCAG 2.1 AA audits and address findings. This is particularly important when new features are added or significant content changes are made — both can introduce accessibility issues that automated tools do not always catch.
Application support A ticket-based helpdesk for queries about site usage, small content or configuration changes, and technical questions from your editorial team. Support operates during office hours with a target response of one working day. Urgent issues — site down or major functional failure — are prioritised and escalated immediately.
Backup and recovery Your site is backed up daily with off-site storage retained for 30 days, covering web application code, database content, and static files.
Hosting
We provide managed hosting for LocalGov Drupal on a platform designed specifically for Drupal which provides:
- Unlimited production websites and staging environments
- Varnish content cache and Memcached application cache
- Apache Solr high-performance search
- Redundant web application servers with load balancing
- Proactive capacity scaling during unexpected traffic peaks
Nothing was too challenging for Rohallion. They were always available to listen to our requirements, answer questions and problem-solve. A big benefit was that due to Rohallion’s track record with LocalGov Drupal, we knew we wouldn’t be starting from scratch.
