# Ongoing support & development

Going live is not the end of the project. It is the beginning of a long-term relationship between your council and your website — and between your council and us.Nine in ten of our council clients stay with us year on year. That continuity is something we actively protect, because the value of a long-term support relationship compounds over time. We understand your systems, your team, your content, and your priorities. That means faster responses, better advice, and development work that fits what you already have.

 **What ongoing support covers**

We provide support and development for councils on LocalGov Drupal through a managed service that covers:

**Security and platform updates** — LocalGov Drupal releases regular updates. We monitor these, test against your configuration, and apply them promptly so your site stays secure and current without disrupting day-to-day operations.

**Accessibility compliance** — WCAG 2.1 AA is a legal requirement, not a one-off achievement. Content changes, new features, and platform updates all have the potential to introduce accessibility issues. We carry out regular audits and address findings as part of ongoing support.

**Content support** — Sometimes your team needs a hand. We are available to advise on content structure, help with complex editorial tasks, or step in when capacity is short.

**Continuous development** — Your council's needs change. New services are introduced, old ones are retired, integration requirements shift. We handle ongoing development work — new features, third-party integrations, performance improvements — as a natural extension of the support relationship rather than as separate commissioned projects.

**LocalGov Drupal version management** — As the platform evolves, we ensure your installation keeps pace, contributing back to the community where our work has broader value.

Nothing was too challenging for Rohallion. They were always available to listen to our requirements, answer questions and problem-solve. A big benefit was that due to Rohallion's track record with LocalGov Drupal, we knew we wouldn't be starting from scratch.

 **A partnership, not a helpdesk**

The way we work is deliberately different from a standard managed service contract. You are not logging tickets into a system and waiting for a response from whoever is available. You have a named team who know your site and know your council.

Westmorland & Furness is a good example of how this works in practice. We built their main LocalGov Drupal website and have since supported the migration of twelve microsites from various proprietary platforms, developed new features, and provided ongoing editorial and technical support across their team. The relationship spans the full scope of their LocalGov Drupal estate.

**What this looks like for your council**

We work with councils on a retained basis, with support arrangements tailored to the size of your site and your team's needs. We are transparent about what is included, what falls outside, and how we handle urgent issues.

Our [support and maintenance](/services/support-and-maintenance) page covers the technical specifics of how we structure these arrangements. If you are currently on a proprietary platform and thinking about what support looks like post-migration, our [technical delivery](/services/technical-delivery) team can talk you through that too.
